I've been looking for a skilled, fair-priced mechanic that doesn't talk in circles, is direct and upfront about pricing and timelines and actually cares about their customers - Back Shop Auto is it. Prices are great, the service is fast, smooth and skilled. I cannot recommend them enough for people tired of other shops high prices and broken promises. You won't be disappointed coming here!

My car crapped out on the side of the freeway over the weekend and I had it towed to Back Shop Auto, because it was one of the closest shops to the exit. They exceeded my expectations and had my car fixed by Monday even after quoting a week or two wait. I've been looking for an amazing and honest shop to take my car to when I need work on it done, and I believe I found it. It's about 40 minutes from where I live but the service was impeccable. 10/10 customer service. I will be back. Thank you Mr. Raiders fan, you were amazing.

Hopefully this isn’t an experience for everyone but it did happen to me, so I called Saturday morning about taking my truck in to get a diagnostic on it, the person on the phone said “yeah we can look at it today”, so I was glad because I have a code and wanted to see the main problem, anyway I went ahead and arrived to the shop roughly 2:30PM, a older worker with long hair and black glasses came to my truck and greeted me and asked what I can do for him, I told him I came in for a diag, and instantly he said “Nope, not doing that today, I don’t do those Saturday and I’m about a week out” which threw me off because I called them and they said they can look and do a diagnostic, and he also basically cut me off when I was explaining to him why I was there, he did offer to read the code for me, but I already had the code so he told me to show him, so I showed him the code for my truck. Instantly he said “take it to a transmission shop” and then he proceeded to bash my truck by saying that it’s going to get “extremely ugly and problematic” ,and telling me that it’s going to be “a headache”. Which I find interesting because how can he know just by looking at the code? I understand that he’s a mechanic, but a proper mechanic wouldn’t just say the worst of the worst without giving it a proper diagnostic. Then he asked me “Is the truck slipping a lot?” and then I proceeded to tell him no, and then he had this clueless look on his face and then he just told me again “yeah take it to a transmission shop, I don’t do those”, and then we both went our different ways so that was my experience and I tried giving these guys business, but they obviously didn’t want it and I understand. I just feel like for the future he shouldn’t be saying such things to other customers, because it can cause a lot of fear and wrong decision-making and repairs that probably didn’t need to be done, but were done because the mechanic told them that “it’s going to get very ugly and it’s going to be a headache”. I will not give them one star because obviously they didn’t do service for me, and I guess it was just a big misunderstanding, but the worker there definitely needs to be more careful with his words, anyway they did save me time and he did tell me that they didn’t do it the moment I stepped out of my truck. It just sucks that I had to get there to find out that they didn’t do diagnostics on Saturdays even though the person on the phone said they did.

I just want to tell you that I am sorry that you took offense to my reaction to a diagnostic on a late Saturday afternoon but I am sure my team told you that we could read a code for you on Saturday but none of them would tell you to bring a diagnostic in on a Saturday when our diagnostic technicians are not here... I am sorry that you took offense to my short reaction but when you showed me the autozone code and it was a P1870 which is an internal torque converter clutch code I as a mechanic of 45 years know that it is internal and told you that it could get ugly and costly, sorry I was so blunt. Guess I could have done the gm flow chart and verified it was the transmission and charged you $130.00 and then told you to go to a transmission shop? I hope you get it repaired and it doesn't get costly. Have a great day!

Repaired my daughters car for a reasonable price and in a timely manner. I was referred by a friend and had a great experience. Single mom here, so it's nice to know I'll be dealt with fairly. Will definitely be back.

I took my Subaru Outback in for an alignment and they got it done efficiently and at a very reasonable price. They even took a minute to clean all the windows before I left. Great service!

A little story with this shop - when I first moved out to Utah from CA my car had issues , I found back shop auto due to its closeness at the time . I met Greg the owner , my Repair would cost more than I had at the time with no job in a new state , Greg looked at me and said “ I will do what I hope someone does for my daughter when she’s away from home in college “I cried ! he fixed my car and let me do monthly payments . Sam drove me to my job interview that day . I got the job , paid my dues and have been only getting my cars fixed by Greg and his team for the past 11 yrs ! Travis is Golden , the sweetest funniest dude, Alex is a Gem! This team always has MY best interest at hand -Greg still hugs me , checks on me and makes sure there is customer satisfaction. They are always busy but never too busy for ANY person that walks in for a repair ! For a girl on her own , it’s priceless to have the perfect auto shop to support ! I trust no one else for laughs, love and good honest care than Greg and his team at back shop auto ! Thank you boys ! You are salt of the earth
